Wow!! We had been to the two Roys that used to be in AZ several times, but they are both closed now. We had thought that they were good, solid restaurants, but nothing spectacular. Roy's in Waikiki was spectacular! Very friendly hostesses, a beautiful restaurant and a great server. The food was the best that we've had on our trip. I had the Butterfish and my wife had a fish that was served over Risotto and topped with Chimichurri. They were two of the best dishes that we've ever had. We followed that up with their Lava Cake. If you are looking for one outstanding restaurant here, this is the one.

Yum yum. Big Shrimps! Drinks martinis. Omg the ribs. Omg fall off the bone. The chocolate dessert. Mm We came to the restaurant for the second dinner in a row, and they gave us a treat for coming again. And it was delicious. And we ordered the ribs again. Always a good choice when coming to Hawaii.

This is a beautiful restaurant with friendly and personable staff. The food was delicious and met most expectations. The only issue I had was that the crab cakes were a bit cold. They were delicious but did not seem to be straight from the oven. I recommend Roy's and if looking for a high end experience this is your spot.

First restaurant we made a reservation for and came to eat while on our vacation! I loved the ambiance of being outside, all of the tiki lights, candles, and the music playing really set the mood. This was such a romantic, intimate dinner and I loved it! My bf and I decided to dress up a bit and we really enjoyed ourselves. I had a signature martini and my bf had the beer. The martini was balanced with the yummy flavors! For starters we had the edamame, and a sushi roll. I had the slow roasted beef short rib and it was tender, juicy and delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beef dish! My bf ordered the misoyaki butterfish, he said it was light, flaky and cooked perfectly. We booth devoured our dishes and headed on to dessert! The chocolate lava cake was to die for, decadent, chocolatey, and fudgey. Our server was fantastic, happy to tell us his favorites on the menu and making sure to check In on us. Great for a celebration, date night, anniversary, family dinner etc! The best!

Roy's Waikiki, situated in the heart of Waikiki, Hawaii, epitomizes the essence of fine dining with its exquisite cuisine, elegant ambiance, and impeccable service. From the moment you step foot into this renowned establishment, you are greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the stage for a truly memorable dining experience. We began our culinary journey with a refreshing Maitai cocktail, perfectly crafted to transport us to the tropical paradise of Hawaii. Accompanying it was the island hopper beer, a delightful choice that complemented the vibrant flavors of the evening ahead. For starters, we indulged in the crabcakes, a delectable marriage of succulent crab meat and aromatic spices. Each bite was a tantalizing burst of flavor, leaving us eager for more. The tiger shrimp and cheese ravioli dish elevated traditional flavors with its creative presentation and harmonious blend of textures. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the "for two" Sampler, a feast for the senses that showcased the culinary expertise of Roy's Waikiki. From perfectly seared steak to tender lobster tail, each element of the sampler was expertly prepared and flawlessly executed, leaving us in awe of the culinary mastery on display. To culminate our dining experience on a sweet note, we indulged in the chocolate souffle, a decadent delight that melted in our mouths with each spoonful. Rich, velvety, and irresistibly delicious, it was the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable meal. Throughout our dining experience, the service at Roy's Waikiki was exemplary. Attentive and knowledgeable staff catered to our every need, ensuring that our evening was nothing short of extraordinary. In conclusion, Roy's Waikiki sets the standard for fine dining in Waikiki, Hawaii. With its impeccable cuisine, elegant ambiance, and attentive service, it offers a culinary experience that is second to none. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking an exceptional dining experience, Roy's Waikiki is sure to exceed your expectations and leave a lasting impression.

Went with the in-laws for mothers day. On the top side by the door, so super convenient since we had our stroller...and it's close to the restroom. And just less people so a lot more quiet and intimate. Our server really nice. Pretty attentive. I guess since there were 2 kids (mine is only like 10 months) they automatically gave them the kids menu. Brought out quesadilla and veggies to start. My baby likes anything, so easy, and then we said we didn't need the main dish or dessert for her. I always like when the restaurants take care of the kids first...and think all Roy's does a good job of that. The service is consistently good at all locations. Food...niece and I shared a sushi roll to start. It was okay. Table had salads, hamachi, escargot to share. I got the pork chop. Good decision on my part. YUM. Gave a piece to the niece, hubs, ate some, and still had leftovers. That white bean puree...OH.MY.GOD. I could just eat that with whatever sauce they had on it all and be happy. So good. So good. So good. Everyone seemed happy with their food except FIL said his pork chop was overcooked. Overall, awesome 1st mother's day...

Been wanting to try the Roy's in Hawaii for a while now to see how it compares to the one in LA. I often think about their butterfish that melts in my mouth. Made online reservations and parked where they told us to park ($8 with validation for 4 hours). We were promptly seated. It's super spacious inside. We ordered: Burrata salad: 5/5 nice crispy salad. I really liked the crunchy purple toppings (maybe taro). Crab cakes: 5/5 very tasty! Kids beef short ribs: 4/5 kids liked it. My older one even ate the mash potatoes and she usually never touches mash potatoes! Comes with quesadilla, veggies, salad and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Butterfish: 4/5 it did melt in my mouth but flavor was a tad sweet. Good overall. Mac nut monchong: 4/5 I liked this more than hubby did. He said it was too tough. I liked the crust on the fish. Chocolate soufflé: 4/5 our waiter accidentally smooshed the side when he took off the wrapping and the molten chocolate came oozing out, so he comped the dessert. Thanks! Special occasion pink dessert: yay for spring break! Didn't really like the taste of the pink portion. Overall it was a nice dining experience. Good food and good service.

If we're being totally honest, our first couple days in Hawaii did not bring us the greatest food. I think that's purely because we did other activities which didn't give us time to try true Hawaiian food since all the good places closed so early. But when my mom gifted us a chance to eat some good food at Roys, our spirits and hope in Oahu's food was finally lifted. Miso yaki butterfish - 5/5 Omg. I had heard about this before and my expectations were completely met. The fish was soft and juicy and tender and that SAUCE. Amazing. Kanpachi Crudo - 5/5 OMG. The butterfish was amazing but this crudo also blew it out of the park. My boyfriend had never tried crudo and absolutely loved it. Canoe Sampler - 4/5 This was such a great way to try more items on the menu. The szechuan belly back ribs and the shrimp sticks were amazing. The spring rolls and the ahi roll weren't bad either, but they just weren't my favorite. Frying Dragon Roll - 4.5/5 This was a great roll. A lot of really great textures and flavor. Caramel Creme Brulee - 4/5 This was pretty good, but I think the deliciousness of the entrees and everything else ordered definitely trumped this. Overall, the service was amazing and the atmosphere and design of the restaurant really spoke to the luxury that you pay for when you go to a Roy's location. This really helped add to our first experience in Hawaii!
